Children and Poi

There are those born with poi in their hand and there are others who need work at it. Children are nurtured and encouraged to expand their knowledge because they will be the future creators of compositions and poi.
Poi dance is an art of survival. It is also a presentation of unconditional behaviours of the present level of a child's development. Poi can help lots of children with learning difficulties and dyslexia. It can help children understand their difficulties and increase their confidence in their abilities.
Poi in early childhood
For a child it becomes an adventure of broad dimensions. He or she will think of 101 things they can do with the poi balls and their senses will dictate their movements and motives i.e. sight, touch, smell, taste, hearing.
All of our Poi passion teachers are CRB checked and hold full public liability.
