About Poi Passion
Poi Passion was established in 2000 in Brighton. Now 9 years on, there is an ever-growing demand for poi workshops and performances throughout the UK.
Poi Passion runs a dynamic troupe of workshop leaders, fire performers, stilt walkers and more - who can be hired to train you, or entertain you at your event. We can cater for work in schools, educational programs, theatres, team building events, promotions, private and public performances.
Poi Passion has trained over 10,000 people in the last 9 years!
Poi is a developing art and the demand for performances is ever growing as people recognize the many benefits in poi spinning. Poi Passion has trained numerous people who are now working in the performance world.
Not only has the Poi Passion team set up successful workshops and workshop leaders, it has also supported the Brighton community in many events over the years.
Poi Passion is a founder member of Radio Reverb and presents a show called 'Global Dance' every week.
Who is Kate Wright?
Personal Profile
Kate Wright, aka Indian Fire, is the founder of Poi Passion and an experienced teacher and performer in the art of poi spinning.
Poi Passion was conceived whilst traveling in Greece whist teaching tourists during the day and performing for local nightclubs and hotels by night. On returning to the UK, Kate quickly established a host of workshops and has now trained over 10,000 children and adults to help master this art.
Kate is renowned in Brighton for her work in the community; running events and participating in carnivals, festivals, after-school clubs and summer camps. She thrives on the ability to make a difference in the lives of those she works with, especially children with special needs and learning disabilities.
As a performer Kate has worked across the globe, including events for Barcardi, numerous festivals (inc. Womad and Glastonbury) and for television on ITV and the BBC.
Kate is available for solo or group performances, running workshops and events in poi, fire, stilts, circus skills and pole dancing.
